On Tuesday, December 3rd, after almost nine years of volunteer service to the community, Rochester Police Department officers forced me out of my office at the Rochester Friends Helping Friends thrift store/food cupboard facility at 333 Child Street under the threat of arrest and told me that I would be arrested if I re-entered the property. Ms. Bahti' Yah Yisrael, began shouting, "that's right, we're taking over," as police officers enforced illegitimate "corporate resolutions" from Ms. Yisrael that was supposed to represent "Rochester Friends Helping Friends." I had no warning whatsoever of this action.
I couldn't afford to hire a lawyer and decided to leave Rochester for good the next day to ensure my personal safety, especially since I was planning on leaving Rochester, anyways. As a result of ongoing problems within Rochester Friends Helping Friends, our board had collapsed earlier in the year and Ms. Yisrael used the opportunity to try to fulfill a prophecy from the recently deceased Yahweh Ben Yahweh. Ms. Yisrael and other members of the Nation of Yahweh believe that Jesus Christ was not the son of God, but that Hulon Mitchell Jr., (aka Yahweh Ben Yahweh -- a recently deceased man) was the Son of God. Prior to his death on May 7th, Yahweh Ben Yahweh predicted that his death would be a "sign that the time is upon the Earth when the godly remnants of the black race will displace the accursed white race along with blacks infected with white blood and rule the earth." According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, the national expert on hate organizations, earlier in 2007, the Nation of Yahweh issued a nationwide call for the fulfillment of the afore-mentioned prophecy at the funeral of Yahweh Ben Yahweh (as Yahweh Ben Yahweh ascends into heaven). Follow the below link to view a video clip of Yahweh Ben Yahweh proclaiming himself the Son of God, quoting scripture to prove his self-proclaimed divinity, while fomenting racial animosity.

If this seems bizarre and disturbing, it is! As is the horrific history of the Nation of Yahweh, a violent Miami-based, black supremacist cult where the leaders of the cult were arrested in relation to the 14 senseless murders of random "white devils," as well as cult members that left the Nation of Yahweh. South Florida's answer to Charles Manson, prosecutors accused Yahweh Ben Yahweh of ordering his followers to kill "white devils" and bring back body parts as proof. In 1992, Yahweh and six followers were convicted of racketeering conspiracy. Prosecutors said that between 1980 and 1986, he directed those six adherents to commit 14 murders and two attempted murders and to firebomb a neighborhood in Delray Beach.

Ms. Bahti' Yah Yisrael, having lived with the Nation of Yahweh in Miami during the NOY's prominence, moved back to Rochester as the members of the Nation of Yahweh went into hiding during its dormancy phase, working with Friends Helping Friends while awaiting direction from Yahweh Ben Yahweh and the other leaders of the NOY. To show her complete allegiance to her new God, "Evelyn Triplett" changed her name to, "Bahti' Yah Yisrael" and always wears her head wrap in public. As was the case for many other NOY members, Yahweh Ben Yahweh's funeral was probably the first time Ms. Yisrael had seen the man she believed to be the Son of God in approximately 15 years, since Yahweh Ben Yahweh had been forbidden to reconnect with his congregation as a term of his parole, since authorities believed his followers completely brainwashed and totally under his command. To verify Ms. Yisrael's connection to the Nation of Yahweh, go to the thrift store at 333 Child Street and ask her if Yahweh Ben Yahweh is the Son of God or begin bad mouthing Yahweh Ben Yahweh in her presence. Contact Ms. Yisrael at home: 647-6141 or at the last numbers I know for the thrift store 413-3019/413-1040.
With Ms. Yisrael's fanatical cult programming renewed, Ms. Yisrael began taking ruthless measures to seize control of Rochester Friends Helping Friends and its assets for the Nation of Yahweh. Since Ms. Yisrael believed that I, Andrew Stankevich, the long-time, dedicated executive director of Friends Helping Friends, was the major obstacle to the Nation of Yahweh seizing company assets, Ms. Yisrael began filing false police reports accusing me of trying to kill her as a means of pressuring me to leave the organization. I assumed that Ms. Yisrael was having "emotional problems" and I tried to talk to her about her false accusations and assumed that the unusual behavior would pass. I was confused and did not know how to respond to Ms. Yisrael's seemingly irrational behavior. When this tactic didn't work, Ms. Yisrael simply passed a board resolution on behalf of the organization authorizing a transfer of assets from Friends Helping Friends to "Hebrew Israelites of Rochester" a d/b/a for Ms. Yisrael and a reference to the Nation of Yahweh. Since nonprofit law forbids the transfer of assets to board members, Ms. Yisrael was not able to get enough board members to approve the resolution. To make up the needed number of votes, Ms. Yisrael simply "counted her vote twice" to gain a majority vote and filed the resolution with Rochester City Court as a valid board resolution to gain control of the organization. Ms. Yisrael, while on the board of directors of Friends Helping Friends, participated in a lawsuit against Friends Helping Friends that accused Mr. Stankevich of fraud. However, the "frivolous" lawsuit was thrown out of Rochester City Court (as I understand it) and did not cite one real instance of fraud on behalf of Mr. Stankevich; Mr. Stankevich worked as a full-time volunteer (earning less than minimum wage) for the approximately 9 years of service to the organization, at times financing the organization with his own resources. Ms. Yisrael and others DID use the lawsuit as a means of smearing Mr. Stankevich to facilitate the transfer of assets to the Nation of Yahweh (we're suing Andrew Stankevich for fraud).
Ms. Yisrael began changing the composition of the board of directors of the organization without following the bylaws of the organization and filed a number of resolutions, none of which followed the bylaws of the organization. Apparently, Ms. Yisrael also filed a corporate resolution barring me from company property. I never saw or had any knowledge of this resolution and later contacted the Internal Affairs/Professional Standards Department of the Rochester Police Department. I corresponding in writing and talked with RPD representative Joseph Wukitsch and later sent Mr. Wukitsch a copy of a board resolution where Ms. Yisrael voted repeatedly to pass a resolution transferring company property to herself.
As I understand it, Mr. Wukitsch and the RPD's position was that the RPD did not have to verify the authenticity of board resolution before enforcing with force and that the RPD would continue to enforce any board resolution from Ms. Yisrael, even with documentation of Ms. Yisrael's clearly fraudulent board resolutions. Mr. Wukitsch told me that I would have to win a civil law suit to re-enter 333 Child St.
Ms. Yisrael had previously told me that she had relatives that worked at the RPD that would "pull strings" for her; I am not sure if nepotism played a role in this course of events.
I had personally known and worked with Ms. Yisrael for a couple years prior to these events and came to know Ms. Yisrael as a hard working, disciplined, reliable and trustworthy person. Although Ms. Yisrael would often talk fondly of the Nation of Yahweh and Yahweh Ben Yahweh over the years, I assumed that the horrific stories on the internet were not true, as Ms. Yisrael had assured me. I never thought that I would meet and come to know a real-deal terrorist or cult member in person during my lifetime. Ms. Yisrael was a pleasant and friendly person prior to her "personality change" after the Nation of Yahweh's national call to action at the international gathering of the Nation of Yahweh at the funeral of Yahweh Ben Yahweh.
There is significance in these proceedings for a number of reasons. Although there is no imminent threat of violence at 333 Child St., given the Nation of Yahweh's propensity towards and history of violence, and the national warnings that the Southern Poverty Law Center has issued regarding the Nation of Yahweh's national resurgence. In the interest of preserving the integrity of charitable institutions, it is important to note that transferring capital and resources from charities to board members is illegal. Such transfers are especially reprehensible when documented terrorist organizations use 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations to provide tax exemption for the donations of product, prior to transferring such items to organizations that would normally be prevented from acquiring 501(c)3 tax exempt status for themselves. In addition, the "new" Rochester Friends Helping Friends management has attempted to defraud the organization's funders to secure additional funding, perhaps to be funneled to the Nation of Yahweh. After RFHF cashed a foundation grant check from the Joan Rothenberg Family Foundation, "new" RFHF representatives contacted the Joan Rothenberg Family Foundation and demanded that the foundation provide another check to "Rochester Food Not Bombs," a previous name of the corporation.

The bike shop at 226 Hudson Avenue has different management and will not be affected by these course of events.
